A Hopi Jar of Madrid Iron Pigment Powder. This pigment powder of red iron oxide was hand foraged and hand ground and placed in this hopi pueblo terracotta jar. This is a clay finely ground, but it is always important to have your own porcelain mortar and pestle handy for any additional desire for grinding down. It has already been levigated for the removal of any unnatural impurities. I have for many years enjoyed creating small clay objects as well as color mixing natural clay paints for that just right effect. The jar comes as you see it with its tied on turquoise bead, a lid dish for holding hand shaped tiny objects like the one that it comes with. The lid dish does have a round spot that once a upon a time had juniper resin on it, I
consider it blessed. The overall size of the jar is 3 1/2” tall x about 3 3/8” wide in round. It also comes with its original coffee filter from levigation, two yucca brushes and a piece of deer skin for the jar to sit on. The rest in the images are just props.
