Campeche Wood Watercolor In A Silver Box. Campeche Wood is another name for logwood and the town in mexico that it came from. The white shell is filled with the amount of a double full pan of pigment of this heart wood tree dye. It has on top a piece of staurolite which contains iron that works to mordant this color while painting. It is a beautiful deep iron red that when other ingredients are used with it it can turn the campeche wood a brighter red, purple, yellow, steel navy blue and a warm graphite.
