This hand foraged orange variety ochre was picked up when passing through oklahoma and so it is called Okl. Org. Ochre on the handmade pigments chart, which can be seen in the last image above and bottom towards the left. The jar with dry pigment comes as you see it with an abalone scoop, a genuine piece of turquoise tied with leather about the clay jar and a lid on top with a piece of clay ochre hand molded to show its character. The jar is signed S.Y. Tosa, Jemez Pueblo at the bottom and is priced for having a few very slight imperfections as a vintage pueblo jar. The pigment can be used for any variety pigment paint recipe. The grinding is medium to fine, it’s always good to put an amount of pigment on your grinding plate and mull for preferred quality, especially for watercolor. Contains about one cup of ochre dry pigment. Makes a lovely collectors pigment jar.
