Mixtec Indigo Watercolor In the Handmade Mineral Ancient Paint Series. A true indigofera suffruticosa L. By itself this watercolor has natural staining strengths depending on types of paper used. Can also be used to do small areas tipped in on silks and linen. Dyers mordants all work. As far as lightfast it won't remain stable on papers left in the the sun for endless testing, unless treated with fixative or covered with UV glass, it is still plant matter. Mixed into semi precious watercolors and natural clays it does become permanent Lightfast. A very gorgeous deep navy indigo plant matter. Comes in a one by two by half inch tin. Has a hand painted chart on its sliding lid.

I ordered several colors and am so pleased with each one. I am particularly fond of indigo and this color is lovely. An extra sample was included as well. The packaging was exquisite and the storage case was so attractive. I will definitely order more!!
